BSA Troop 1677 Breakfast Recipe
Breakfast Casserole

Breakfast Casserole (Beast Feast, First Place, July 1997 at Cole Canoe Base) this is a
breakfast favorite that could also be used as a dinner. The content of this recipe was
split between two 12 inch round by 1.5 inch deep pans that stacked neatly into one
Dutch oven. Wire stakes were used to separate the two pans, the lower pan was held
above the bottom of the oven with a trivet although almost anything will do.
This is Scoutmaster Berg's recipe.

Ingredients
8 slices of bread, broken into pieces
1 lb sausage, cooked and drained
8 oz sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
6 eggs
2 c. milk
1 tsp salt
1tsp pepper
Instructions
Beat mixture of eggs, milk, salt & pepper. Divide the ingredients evenly between the
pans as follows: place bread in bottom of pan, sprinkle cheese and crumbled sausage
on top. Pour egg mixture over all & bake at 350 for 1/2 hour.
Cut into squares for serving. Feeds 6-8.
